Elizabeth Quay wedding
I have no doubt that there are many brides considering to have the Elizabeth Quay wedding. After all, it is a spectacular and brand new. Most importantly it is located in the heart of Perth's CBD. That is why it was an obvious choice for Jess and Boyd. They decided to have a low-key ceremony at the registry office. Followed by 2 hours photo shoot around the Convention Centre and the Elizabeth Quay. It was a perfect day for shooting; not too hot and partially cloudy. We started with a family group shots and then we moved to photograph just two of them. All of the elements fell nicely into the place, and we were able to capture some great shots. The combination of dramatic light, city structures and the lovely couple is always a recipe for success. Jess and Boyd did splendid job following my directions and sometimes performing some twisty posing, but it all paid off handsomely.
As a side note: Many people expect to get great photos from their wedding without doing any work. There is an expectation that the wedding photographer will magically make everyone look like models in magazines. Even when the subject stands in a bad light with an unworkable background and a hundred other things which may required adjustment or change. I truly wish it was possible that I just could take a photo and people on it would not hunch, their eyes were in just right place to convey a romantic connection. Their body positions were in a just right direction to the light with appropriate facial expressions and on top of that my camera exposure was just right at that instant. As you can imagine, this rarely happens without full cooperation, focus and trust of involved parties. This is why I always thank couples who understand this and are willing to put an effort to get some great images.
